The sea lions are friendly mammals. They are clever, cute and love to play. Especially young sea lions, or pups, are very interested in people.Sea lions are generally social animals and usually stay together in groups of ten to fifteen.

They are excellent swimmers. As soon as they see people arriving by boat, they rush into the sea. Try it once, and you will want to do it again and again. So many satisfied customers come back for more!

Fishing, diving, surfing, or cruising the islands, The Pelican caters for a variety of charters.The Abrolhos Islands consist of 122 islands, divided into four main groups: Wallabies, Easter, North Island and Southern/Pelseart group. These islands are considered a pristine environment and to protect the marine ecosytem the Government has implemented protective environmental measures to ensure it’s conserved. These islands are seasonally explored from April through to June, due to good weather. The islands are located nearly 40 nautical miles west of Geraldton, and approximately a 4 hour drive from Perth, West Australia. The Abrolhos Islands are renowned for their warm current and provide some of the best coral scenes in the world! This location is idyllic and caters for deep-sea fishing, diving, surfing, snorkelling, or simply cruising between the many islands.

Esperance has over 140 islands in the Recherche Archipelago and subsequently many wonderful dive sites to choose from. The islands are washed by crystal clear turquoise water. These granite intrusions provide large caves, boulders and swim-throughs for the diver to explore. The temperate water is the perfect environment for the prolific growth of colourful soft corals and sponges. These line the caves and boulders and the array of colour is breath taking. Esperance is also blessed with areas of hard coral. This is usually in the form of plate coral and is always teeming with tiny colourful fish.

The Esperance water is home to many species of fish. Some of the more common species seen on a dive include groper, red snapper, harlequin fish, sweep, queen snapper, cuttlefish, wrasse, break-sea cod, blue devils to mention a few! .Esperance is also the home of the famous Southern fighting crayfish and abalone. Divers can take these. There are bag and size limits and of course you must have a license.
